Dr. Dionne Skervin was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  She moved to South Florida with her family when she was 10 years old because her father wanted a better life for them. She quickly realized that she excelled in academics and decided to do the international baccalaureate (IB) and advanced placement programs in high school.  She did a lot of volunteer hours working with children and by the end of her junior year, she knew she was meant to be a pediatrician. Dr. Skervin attended the University of Miami for an undergraduate degree and graduated general honors and honors in biology.  She’s never enjoyed cold weather, so decided to stay in Florida for medical school. She went to the University of South Florida in Tampa. She stayed on for their excellent pediatric residency program. Following her residency, she served USF Health for an additional year as Chief Resident.

Dr. Skervin was very excited to come back home to South Florida to start work in the real world and to be closer to her beloved family. She joined Palm Beach Pediatrics in December 2008 and has thoroughly enjoyed her experience here since then.  In fact, she says she can thank Palm Beach Pediatrics for the family she has now.  Because she volunteered for a project for Palm Beach Pediatrics, she ended up meeting her husband and together, they now have two beautiful children, a boy and a girl.  They feel truly blessed, and when not at work Dr. Skervin loves devoting all her time to her family. Dr. Skervin enjoys working with patients of all ages, but she especially likes working with parents of newborns and infants.
